Our Jungle Base is under 3.5km from Ahangama town.
Ahangama is a buzzing small town on the South Coast of Sri Lanka. The area has a mix of beaches to visit, an array of eateries and waves that surfers dream about, you’ll be sure that any downtime can be filled with additional activities, if that’s what you are looking for.
Galle Fort is around 30 minutes in a tuk-tuk and provides an insight into some of the colonial history buried in Sri Lanka.
Our Immediate Locale
We will be surrounded by greenery, and will spot wildlife like lizards, gray langur monkeys and a huge host of beautiful birds that call the area home. It’s a real jungle out there!
Our retreat base even has a path carved through the jungle so you can take yourself on a stroll and see what wildlife you can spot, it’s perfect for mindfulness walks.
We are going to be practicing in a shala located on the edge of the jungle. This shala offers a calm alternative to the sometimes hectic and mainstream nature of manicured resorts and beachside options.
