What awaits you in the jungle

Life on retreat settles into its own natural rhythm — practice, nourishment, time outdoors, and space to slow down. Over the week we follow a gentle flow that supports both deep practice and genuine rest.

Your Retreat

Jungle Base

7 nights accommodation at our Jungle Retreat Base

Your home for the week — a peaceful base surrounded by nature where you can settle into the rhythm of retreat life.

Jungle Fuel

Fresh, delicious and nourishing meals are shared together throughout the retreat, creating space to connect and unwind after the day’s practices. This includes special welcome and farewell meals to begin and close our week together.

Two lunches and two evening meals are intentionally left free so you can explore local restaurants and cafés and experience the local food scene.

Meals at the retreat are designed to support the rhythm of the practices and the slower pace of retreat life.

Morning YOGA practice

Dynamic Ashtanga-style yoga & Vinyasa

6 mornings of 1½–2 hour dynamic practice, where everyone moves at their own pace within the structure of the practice. Taught in a kind and inclusive way, with options and guidance offered so the practice can meet you where you are.

Afternoon YOGA practice

Restorative, Yin Style, meditation & workshops

5 afternoon sessions offering a mix of restorative, Yin-style practice, meditation and workshops, session with visiting practitioner (such as a sound healer).

Jungle Journal -  with a creative twist

During the retreat there will also be two relaxed creative gatherings:

• An introduction to simple visual (art) journaling techniques
• A nature-inspired session drawing from the beauty of the surrounding landscape

Participation is completely optional — you are welcome to engage as much or as little as feels right for you.

Materials provided, no artistic experience is needed — just curiosity.

Jungle Adventure – SUP River Safari or Koggala Lake Boat Tour (optional)

For those who’d like to explore beyond the retreat space, there will be the opportunity to join either a guided SUP river safari or a peaceful boat tour of Koggala Lake.

These experiences are offered by trusted local providers we've connected with, who know the waterways and wildlife of the area beautifully. It’s a chance to glide through mangroves, spot birds and wildlife, and experience another side of the surrounding landscape.

Participation is optional and can be arranged locally during the retreat.

Jungle Recovery – Ayurvedic Treatments (optional)

For deeper relaxation and restoration, traditional Ayurvedic treatments are available during the retreat.

These treatments are offered by experienced local therapists recommended by the retreat venue. Sessions may include massage and other restorative therapies designed to support balance and wellbeing.

Appointments can be arranged during the week and are paid for individually.

Fireside Philosophy - YOGA Sutra conversations

Light & fun discussion: exploring ideas from the Yoga Sutras and how these ancient teachings show up in everyday life — both on and off the mat.

Who This Retreat Is For

This retreat is open to anyone who enjoys a regular yoga practice and would like the opportunity to spend a few days exploring it in a supportive and relaxed environment.

Our morning practices draw inspiration from Ashtanga-style sequencing, but the approach is adaptable, thoughtful and non-dogmatic. You’ll be encouraged to practise at your own pace, listen to your body, and explore the practice in a way that feels sustainable and supportive.

You may particularly enjoy the retreat if you:

• Appreciate dynamic yoga practice alongside restorative sessions
• Are curious about yoga beyond the poses, including philosophy and reflection
• Enjoy practising with others while still having space for your own experience
• Like the idea of a week immersed in nature with a touch of adventure

Above all, the retreat aims to create a space where people can practise sincerely, rest well, and enjoy the experience together.

The Retreat Atmosphere

Although yoga is at the heart of the retreat, the overall feeling is very much that of a holiday.

There are no strict lifestyle rules. Guests are welcome to enjoy the retreat in their own way — whether that means relaxing by the water, sharing a glass of wine with dinner, or simply enjoying the freedom of being away from everyday responsibilities.

Meals are nourishing and thoughtful, with plenty of options, but there is no expectation that everyone follows a particular dietary philosophy.

The intention is to create an environment that feels kind, inclusive and unpressured, where people can enjoy both the practice and the experience of being away.
